Chinese New Year, this year, is the year of the Rat, and it falls on 25th January 2020.

In order, they are: rat (鼠—shǔ), ox (牛—niú), tiger (虎—hǔ), rabbit (兔—tù), dragon (龙—lóng), snake (蛇—shé), horse (马—mǎ), goat (羊—yang), monkey (猴—hóu), rooster (鸡—jī), dog (狗—gǒu), and pig (猪—zhū).

The Chinese New year is celebrated on the first day of the First Moon of the lunar calendar. Chinese New Year, signifies the turning over a new leaf. Socially, it is a time for family reunions, and for visiting friends and relatives.
